2026 Salary Referendum

A local effort investing in us!

Local Dollars + Local Collective Bargaining =
Higher Salaries and Better Schools

LCS educators and employees will benefit directly from the improved local referendum the School Board has placed on the November 2026 ballot.

Lake County Schools is the largest employer in Lake County. Our community, families, and students will also benefit from LCS employee's earning more competitive wages.

Why it matters?

  • Creates additional funds for LCS educator compensation

  • Provides greater flexibility for compensation

  • Continues to support school safety

Get Informed

  • Adds an estimated $9 million for compensation

  • Increases the local referendum from .75 to 1.0 mill ($1 for every $1,000 in taxable home value)

We are the Champions

Did you know the second of Lake County Schools' five strategic priorities is to “Champion a culture that attracts, develops, supports, and retains quality employees”?

We have good news. The champions are here! We are current LCS educators who want to act now alongside LCS to deliver on this strategic priority.

We believe that LCS can act now to implement the following:

A. Pay Retention Supplements to all LCS educators
B. Compensation to address veteran compression
C.  Increase compensation for stipends and supplements including athletics and extracurriculars
D. Fully-fund the LCS Mentoring Program

Are you a champion of these reasonable, educator-developed solutions to improve teacher retention and build a positive professional culture?

Our power to win these demands depends on our
strength in numbers. Take action now:
